Quite the contrary actually. The man owns an iPad, iTouch, iMac, MacBook Pro, and is a regular user of all forms of technology. […]

Our girl, Matilda

Boston Marathon Bombing: Is This The New Normal?

April 17, 2013
Boston Marathon

The same question appeared on my Facebook feed on Monday by several different people. They all asked this: What the f**k is wrong with our world? I wish I knew. And like every other parent out there, I wish I could shield my kids from the news of these repeated horrors. But, I can’t. Because […]

No-Screen Time Week: Wish Us Luck!

April 8, 2013
No Video Games

Today was the start of our elementary school’s annual “Turn of the TV” week. This year, they have extended the turn-off time to include ALL screen time. You heard me. I’m talking no computers, video games, or phones. Not an easy task for any family. Especially ours. Guess how long our family lasted? 33 seconds. […]

Competitive Tennis: Should I Quit?

March 20, 2013
Shot of a tennis racket and two tennis balls o...

As I embark on another season of competing in USTA tennis, I question whether I want to continue. I am not sure I enjoy it. Should I return to being a recreational player and give up competing? I compare myself to my own children, who have decided on their own when to stop competing in a particular sport.
