Since Superbowl Sunday just passed, I thought I’d share a few photos from a football game…We are BIG Michigan fans in our household because both my husband and I went to college there. Although the two of us may be a little biased, there is nothing like a Michigan football game, with the vast stadium that holds over 100,000 fans at every home game. The top photo shows how every Michigan game starts, with the team running out and jumping up to touch the banner. The middle photo shows the marching band at halftime, which is always an impressive performance. And the bottom photo shows the Michigan scoreboard, which always shows the number of fans attending that particular game. Although our football team did not do as well as we hoped this past season, the Michigan basketball team is another story. They are having an amazing season and last night they beat arch rival Ohio State in overtime. As every Michigan fan says, GO BLUE!

You brught me back Emily. Right before I dated Kevin, i was going out with a guy. He went to Notre Dame for schol, but both his parents went to Michigan and they had plenty of “fights” over which was the better team in their house. I, on the other, couldn’t care less, lol (so not the football fan as you know). Great pictures and Happy Wednesday
Yup, those Notre Dame fans can be as bad as those of us who root for Michigan.
I lived in Ohio for a while, but I was still a Michigan fan. Awesome pictures. You can almost feel the vibes from the crowd. GO BLUE!
Glad to hear you were still a Michigan fan Gina or we might have to cease all contact — just kidding and Go Blue!
Go blue! That’s awesome! Great photos and…for some reason, I thought you lived in NY. But…maybe it’s Michigan, LOL. In any case, I tweeted this and I’ll share it on my Sunday post.
Thanks Cyndi and yes, I do live in NY but we travel back to Michigan to see family and to go to Michigan games!
Whoa. those are nice pics. I love football in all forms, college and pro, and honestly I don’t care who wins. Looks like you had great seats.
Yes we did have great seats, although it was a COLD day!
It’s reading and watching things like this that make me envy you all over there. We don’t really have huge events like this here, well – we have cricket and rugby, but I’m not a fan of them at all. I like the whole spirited atmosphere that the game of football brings. Great photos!
Sounds like you’ll have to come visit us over here and experience your first football game!
Being from Green Bay Wisconsin, our town is full of football fans. I only got to go to a game once, but the excitement was indescribable! Loved it!
I’ve only been to one professional football game in my life…I really only like going to Michigan games!
Yeah, Go Blue.
Great captures even from a distance.
Good job, Emily.
Great shots! I can tell you really love your team.
Although I’m not much of a football fan, it was fun to go to games in college!
I agree, I’m more of a college football fan — no desire to go to a pro game. I know, a bit strange.
Just have to add : GO BLUE!!!!!!! Wish we could make it to a basketball game this year, but not looking likely. Maybe next year, of course, by then we will probably stink again! Anyway, just for emphasis: GO BLUE!!!!!
Jon is insisting that he go to the Final Four if Michigan makes it…They won’t stink next year because it’s a young team.
Wow!! These were some cool shots. Thanks for sharing, Emily, came right out of a mag!!
Emily – Let us stay friends as we are Big Ten fans. Let us also stay friends as I applaud the efforts of my Indiana team last Saturday in beating Michigan and taking back the No. 1 in the nation raking. That being said (not in all intending to add salt to the wound, lol) those are some great shots above! I prefer the Cream and Crimson colors, but to each their own. : ) Seriously, great job!
Don’t worry Rich, Michigan will beat Indiana when they play them in Ann Arbor.
But yes, we’ll still stay friends.
(from here in New England) it’s interesting to see the seeming difference, in the College (even High School) Football as a culture event (at least on the semi-local level).
I do not recall any focal team growing up (not imposed by parents or relatives), but I did take to professional golf as the perfect spectator sport (particularly from the living room couch).
Seems like it could get kinda cold out there in the amphitheater on a late Autumn day.
Yes Clark it DOES get quite chilly in that stadium, but Michigan fans will brave any weather to see their Wolverines play!
Fun football pictures! My husband is a HUGE Tennessee Vols fan. Luckily, they do not compete with Michigan because he might not let me be friends with you anymore
Ha – I get it. My husband is the same way. NO OHIO STATE fans are allowed to be our friends.
